Govt must act on law reform commission recommendations

THE Labour Party Spokesperson on Equality Deputy Kathleen Lynch has welcomed the recommendations from the Law Reform Commission contained in the Report on Family Relationships.

“Labour is welcoming this report and the recommendations which are consistent with Labour’s Private Members’ Bill The Guardianship of Children Bill 2010, published in April. Our Bill was designed to vindicate the right of a child to know and have the company of each of its parents, unless there are compelling circumstances why this would not be in the interests of the child.

Report demands radical reform of insolvency law

FINE Gael spokesperson on Innovation  & Research Deirdre Clune TD has welcomed the recommendations for reform contained in the Law Reform Commission’s Personal Debt Management and Debt Enforcement Report.

Deputy Clune has urged the Government to respond to the report by reforming our outdated insolvency laws without any further delay.
