TODAY’S Irish Times /TNS mrbi poll indicates a close race for seats in the Ireland South Euro constituency in the upcoming election.
The figures, which are part of a wider poll published in today’s Irish Times show that Fianna Fáil’s Brian Crowley maintains his huge personal popularity as he is way out in front on 30 per cent, but after Crowley there is a real dogfight for seats.
Mr Crowley’s running mate, Cork East TD Ned O’Keeffe looks to be out of the race completely on just four per cent while Fine Gael’s front-runner is former GAA President, Sean Kelly who is showing at 16 per cent.

THE latest Irish Times / MRBI poll reports Fine Gael at their best rating (38 per cent) for 25 years while Fianna Fáil lag behind on 21 per cent, their worst performance since the Irish Times began polling in 1982.
The poll to be published in tomorrow’s Irish Times also shows that just 10 per cent of respondents are satisfied with the performance of the Government while 86 per cent report they are dissatisfied.
The Labour Party recorded support at 20 per cent while Sinn Féin and independents were both at nine per cent and the Green Party stood at three per cent. The poll was conducted after former RTÉ economics editor George Lee announced he would run for Fine Gael in the Dublin South By Election.
