Little respite for struggling homeowners

Ciaran Lynch

Ciaran Lynch

LABOUR TD Ciarán Lynch has said that Eamon Ryan’s pronouncement yesterday that the Government will put together a panel of experts to take a look at how to address the problems faced by struggling homeowners, bears all the hallmarks of a Green Party “solo run”.

“It is curious that such a proposal would come from the Minister for Energy and Communications, a minister that holds no responsibility whatsoever for housing, welfare issues or banking policy. Surely it is the Minister for Housing Michael Finneran who should be coming forward with initiatives like this. It is also extraordinary that Dept of Finance seems to know nothing at all about this.
