Coveney critical of “Green Economy” report

CORK Fine Gael TD, Simon Coveney has hit out at the publication of the government’s “Green Economy” report today saying that the launch was merely “a report from an action group set up as part of another action plan whose proposals still haven’t seen the light of day.”

The Cork South Central TD said that while the recommendations in the report make sense, that what is really needed now from the Government is a programme of job delivery not more reports and analysis.

“Fianna Fáil and the Greens launched their ‘Smart Economy’ plan a year ago and today’s report emerged from an ‘action group’ that was set up as part of the plan. Little has been done to date by Fianna Fáil and the Greens to achieve its ‘Smart Economy’ proposals and the Government should have focused on delivery rather than another PR exercise.
