THE Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin has repeated his invitation to the Sinn Féin Leader Gerry Adams for a head to head debate on the Stability Treaty.

Deputy Martin commented, “It is quite clear that Gerry Adams is not serious about debating the real issues in this Treaty directly with the Yes side.  After refusing my invitation for a head to head debate last weekend, Deputy Adams issued an invitation to the Taoiseach that he knew was unlikely to be accepted.

FIANNA Fáil Leader, Micheál Martin TD, has challenged Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams to a head-to-head debate on the upcoming Stability Treaty referendum.

He made the offer following the Sinn Féin deputy’s refusal to participate in the recent TV3 Stability Treaty debate and his virtual absence from the campaign to date.

Senator “dismayed at level of cynicism” shown by Sinn Féin

TODAY at the Committee discussing the Stability Treaty, Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams was challenged to explain how a leaflet being distributed to every home in the country was misusing quotes by three of the country’s most eminent economists in making an argument against the treaty.

Senator John Gilroy, Seanad Spokesperson on Finance for the Labour Party, expressed dismay at the level of cynicism being displayed by Sinn Féin.

Adams “out of his depth” on water charges

LABOUR Party TD for Cork South Central, Ciaran Lynch has said that Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams  is “out of his depth” and  “should really check his facts before he speaks about water charges”.

“In the Dail, Deputy Adams claimed that the government plans to impose a flat rate water charge on every household, irrespective of consumption.

SINN Féin President Gerry Adams will be in Cork today (Monday) to support general election candidates Jonathan O’Brien and Chris O’Leary, in the wake of polls showing both of them in the running for Dáil seats.
The key themes of the visit will be job creation, the future of local health services including the Orthopaedic Hospital, and the impact of cutbacks and the Universal Social Charge on working families.

SINN Féin President Gerry Adams is in Cork today to promote the party’s economic recovery strategy and support its candidates at the upcoming general election.

At 11am he will take part in a photo-call at the National Monument with the party’s general election candidates, Cllr Jonathan O’Brien and Cllr Chris O’Leary. Sinn Féin is targeting seats in both Cork City constituencies at the next general election.

SINN Féin President Gerry Adams, will be in Clonakilty, west Cork later this afternoon to accompany local activists campaigning for a no vote in the upcoming Lisbon Treaty referendum.

Mr Adams is due in Clonakilty at approximately 2.45pm, and will spend around an hour in the town meeting people to put the Sinn Féin arguments against the Lisbon Treaty.
He will be accompanied by local Sinn Féin Town Councillor Cionnaith Ó Súilleabháin and other party members and supporters during his walkabout.

THE Sinn Féin President, Gerry Adams visited Cork today to launch his party’s campaign for the Local Government elections.
The party is looking to build on the gains it made in 2004 and is contesting all six wards in Cork City as well as every local electoral area in the County.
Speaking earlier today, Gerry Adams said that the sharp end of the economic crisis is being felt at a community level throughout this state and that the party is seeking a mandate to address this acting to resist government attacks on working people and the vulnerable in society.
