Taoiseach travels to Cork

The Taoiseach will this afternoon travel to Cork Airport and Cork University Hospital to meet with those involved in the response to this morning’s air tragedy.

The Taoiseach will be briefed by the relevant authorities at Cork Airport and Cork University Hospital and will be available to brief the media between 4.30pm and 5.00pm at Cork Airport

Lord Mayor to pay visit to Cork City Fire Station to pay tribute to emergency service personnel

THE Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Michael O’ Connell and the City Manager Mr Tim Lucey will this afternoon at 2.15p.m pay a visit to the Cork City Fire Station, Anglesea Street to personally thank all members of the Cork City Fire Service for their assistance in dealing with this morning’s tragic plane crash at Cork International Airport.

Speaking before the visit The Lord Mayor said, “ I met with some of the emergency services as they returned from the scene of this morning’s tragic plane crash. I wish to pay tribute to the courage and professionalism of all members of the emergency services in particular members of Cork City Fire Service.
