SOCIALIST Party councillor Mick Barry has called on the people of Cork to support staff at the CCTU Employment Resource Centre in the North Main Street who yesterday took control of the building and defied attempts to have the unemployment centre shut down.
He said, “It is absolutely crazy to be shutting down a centre for unemployed people at a time when there are more people unemployed than at any other time in the history of the State.
“This is the only centre of its kind in either Cork city or county, an area with more than 50,000 people out of work.
