FIANNA Fáil Leader Micheál Martin has paid tribute to the former Vita Cortex workers after they ended their 161 day sit-in today.
Deputy Martin commented: “The workers made their case with dignity and strength. They were determined to see this through and they can be proud of the way they conducted their campaign.
“The Vita Cortex workers brought together people from all parties in their efforts. Tribute should also be paid to the Labour Relations Commission and officials and unions who were involved is bringing this dispute to an end.
“There are important lessons to be learned here, and I would ask the Government to look at what initiatives they can take to avoid a repeat of this stand-off.”
