LABOUR Senator John Gilroy says he is seeking input from public on suicide prevention.
“I believe suicide is the single greatest challenge facing our society and we must do everything we can to reduce the incidence.
“I have been appointed Rapporteur on Suicide Prevention to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children.
“This charges me with compiling a report and to bring it before the Committee.
“I intend to do this as soon as possible. I have been conducting a series of consultations with organisations and agencies working in this area for the past number of months, I would now like to hear from members of the public who wish to express their views on this most important area.
“Everyone’s opinion is important and perhaps by seeking as wide a range of views as possible we might be able to uncover some new insights which might help us in understanding what is happening in our society.
