United Left Alliance launches in Cork

MEMBERS of the public are being invited to attend tonight’s Cork launch of the United Left Alliance (ULA).

The Alliance is made up of the Socialist Party, the People Before Profit Alliance and the Tipperary-based Workers and Unemployed Action Group.

Leading left-wing figures are travelling to Cork to help launch the new movement including Socialist Party MEP Joe Higgins, Cllr Richard Boyd Barrett of the People Before Profit Alliance and Cllr Seamus Healy of the Workers and Unemployed Action Group.

The meeting will also be addressed by the two ULA general election candidates on Leeside, Cllr Mick Barry (Socialist Party, Cork North Central) and Anne Foley (People Before Profit Alliance Cork North West).

The ULA aims to stand over 20 candidates in the General Election.
