THE Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Dara Murphy today congratulated the staff of Cork City Council and the emergency services for their actions in the current civic emergency, and welcomed the decision of the unions involved in the proposed public service strike on Tuesday to defer their action.

“It’s great to witness such great community spirit in Cork,” he said.
