GREEN party candidate for the Carrigaline Electoral Area, Dominick Donnelly is out of the running to secure a seat on either the town council or county council.
After the most recent count for the Carrigaline area failed to deliver enough votes to allow any candidate reach the quota, Donnelly’s votes are now being re-distributed.

TWO more candidates have been eliminated from the race in Cork South Central.
Fine Gael’s Billy MacGill and Green Party candidate Mary Ryder were both eliminated.
No other candidate made the quota on this fifth count.

SITTING Fianna Fáil councillor Mary Shields has been elected on the second count in Cork South West.
Green Party candidate and local anti high-rise activist Mick Murphy has been eliminated.

RESULTS of an RTÉ exit poll on the local elections have shown a big drop in support for Fianna Fáil, and significant gains for both Fine Gael and Labour.
The poll, by Lansdowne Market Research, indicated that Fianna Fáil will get just 24 per cent of the vote - eight points lower than its result five years ago.
