FINE Gael’s David O’ Byrne has failed to secure a seat for Fine Gael in the Carrigaline Electoral Area.
Being the candidate with the lowest number of votes after the sixth count, his votes are being redistributed.
O’ Byrne said that while he was disappointed, he was delighted to have secured a seat on the town council.
The seventh count for the Carrigaline electoral area is now underway .

COUNTING is continuing in the Carrigaline, Kanturk and Midleton Electoral Areas of Cork County Council.
At this stage of the evening, candidates are eager for the counting to continue progressing at a steady pace . It is expected that the counts will continue well into the early hours of the morning.

GREEN party candidate for the Carrigaline Electoral Area, Dominick Donnelly is out of the running to secure a seat on either the town council or county council.
After the most recent count for the Carrigaline area failed to deliver enough votes to allow any candidate reach the quota, Donnelly’s votes are now being re-distributed.

LABOUR’S Paula Desmond continues the long wait for results for the Carrigaline area. While three candidates were elected for the area on the first count, the second and third counts did not bring any joy for the candidates.
