THE recount in Cork’s North Central Ward has been completed concluding counting for Cork City Council.
On the ninth and final count Fine Gael’s Pat Gosch made the quota while Fianna Fáil’s Kenneth O’Flynn, son of TD Noel and Sinn Féin’s Thomas Gould were also elected.

SEAN Martin, brother of Minister Micheál Martin has been elected to the third seat in Cork South Central after a close battle.
Cllr Martin was elected on the fifth count along with independent candidate Mick Finn and Sinn Féin’s Fiona Kerins.
Independent candidate Paudie Dineen lost out at the last hurdle.

FIANNA Fáil’s Tony Fitzgerald has taken the last seat in Cork’s North West Ward at the expense of Joe O’Callaghan of Fine Gael.

LABOUR’S Michael O’Connell has been elected on the sixth count in the North West Ward.
Cllr O’Connell’s re-election leaves a two horse race between sitting councillors Tony Fitzgerald (FF) and Joe O’Callaghan (FG) for the last seat.
Cllr O’Connell’s surplus was 64 while Joe O’Callaghan trails Tony Fitzgerald by 58 votes.
